The existing building should be replaced through a new construction, meeting current structural and economical standards, providing a new identity through valuable architecture. One major goal is to keep the building compact, thereby lowering it’s use of open space.
The use of white, light concrete shows solidity and security, in the technical areas, while representing transparency, clarity and openness in the office area. Only in the entrance area, guests are greeted by am open and inviting glass-façade. The walls are either constructed as drywall installations, rendered or out of white concrete.
The sustainable and passive structure, and the ideal temperature conditionings of all building surfaces are ensured by an ecological and economic heat pump system and a geothermal facility, which provide a cooling condition in summer and a warming condition in winter. In the case of heating or cooling, the temperature conditionings of all building surfaces provide a more consistent maintaining of temperature, ensuring an optimal adaptation for the room temperature, thus reducing the potential aggressiveness of the patients.
On top of the core internal warmth-insulation and the vapour barrier, behind the temperature conditioning of all building surfaces is the flexible prearranged architectural techniques. Then the different temperature impact from the weather change is counterbalanced. Additionally these measures also reduce the costly air exchange rates.
Solar panels are installed on the rooftop to generate solar power as well as to heat up utility water. The extensive green rooftops can also improve the micro-climates.
Landscape planning concept
The outdoor space is, as well as the building it self, divided. Parking spaces are found in the southern, representative part of the property, framed by a garden. At the separation of the office- and the technical part of the building, there is a turning bay for trucks. The traffic and storage spaces are located in a triangle in front of the building.
