The existing building is positioned in Berlin city centre, on Friedrichstraße, in the Berlin-Mitte district. The building houses Russian cultural institutions in Berlin, and as such is protected by the Berlin City Council. Because of the architectural significance and City councils strict instructions the building facade could not be changed only restored to it´s previous condition.
