The former noisy 3-storey car park on a residential street in Wilmersdorfer district was converted into a 7-storey residential and commercial building with an underground car park. The closure of the street front façade, together with this residential block structure, is a part of repairs intended for this run-down surrounding from town planning. The façade is accentuated by the integrated light fixtures, all individually designed and created only for this building project.
The ground and the first floor are intended for commercial use. On top of it, the area of 9 generous-sized apartments is achieved by dividing 5 upper floors into two apartments on each floor and the upper 6th floor is used for a Penthouse apartment, then the ceiling heights can all be over 3,00 m. In the core centre of the apartment and in between the rooms, all areas are connected through double sliding doors or double swinging doors, thus making the full size of the apartment tangible when the double door opens. On the southern side, a balcony terrace is located for each apartment.
On upper 3rd floor, the former multi-storey car park rooftop in the garden area is used for terrace area. The penthouse apartment is nestled in three cardinal directions from the terrace area.
One type of light sandstone material is selected for the façade. The varnish of the Meranti window is taken up from the handrail in the staircase and continued.
The individually designed staircase lighting fixture gives the public entrance hall a special tone. The oak flooring in all the rooms and the indirect lighting on the ceiling in the entrance hall should promote a sense of comfort. The towel racks in the bathrooms are exclusively designed and built for this project.
