Conversion of a Multi-purpose Hall

Schulplatz 3, 04575 Neukieritzsch

Urban planning and open space planning integration

The planned structure extends in a north-south direction as a bar-shaped link between the eastern outdoor swimming pool and the western football field. The permeability in north-south direction is underlined by a transparent facade in the entrance area at the forecourt. Like two building body sledges, the open-air swimming pool and football bar nestle against the foyer and the two central access axes. In extension of these access corridors, the way to the Bolz and tennis courts as well as to the halfpipe can be found via rear exits. From the foyer, two exits lead to the bathroom on the one hand and to the football pitch on the other, thus offering differentiated spatial and visual relationships.

On the east side, this path is flanked in the open space by a guest terrace and a snack terrace. This path leads to the outside cashier's desk, next to which there are parking spaces for bicycles in the northern area. The transformer house will be covered with the facade material of the new building.

On the west side, the path is crossed by the access road for the football pitch. Here, care is taken to ensure that this 4 m wide access path with the green strip on the fence can be completely preserved. New trees will be planted alongside the building. At the Badstraße, the building adapts with its height development with two floors to the neighbouring buildings.
The forecourt is crowned by an 8 m high canopy, in whose extension to the south the 8 m high hall protrudes staggered back from the second floor. With the staggered back hall on the second floor above the two bowling and skittle alleys, the floor space is reduced without losing the neighbourly references during the height development.

Functionality

The main and personnel development of the new building, including delivery and removal, snack bar and restaurant, outdoor pool, bathing and outdoor sports changing facilities, is ensured from the Badstraße. In the western entrance areas, football players and track and field athletes are offered covered niches with sinks for cleaning sports shoes. On the eastern side there are the individual entrances to the restaurant (with and without people control), to the sauna, to squash, to the changing room, to the first-aid room, to the swimming master and staff, as well as to the outdoor toilets. Escape exits are located next to the entrances to two storage rooms on the south side.
The spacious foyer opens with an air space up to the walkway on the upper floor. The gastronomy is located at the interface between the street (local presence), outdoor swimming pool, bowling and skittles as well as sauna and squash on the ground floor and on the upper floor near the gym, the hall and the club room. The trophies of Neukieritzsch's sporting achievements can be presented to the public in showcases arranged sideways and frontally. Behind it there is a bar in the anteroom for bowling. Bowling and skittles can be separated.

Two elevators in the foyer ensure barrier-free access to the second floor. The equipment room and the grandstand (control room) are located on the long side of the hall with a column-free view, as are the changing and shower areas. It is possible to divide the hall. The hall is divided into a street hallway and a sneaker hallway.
