The new Freight Distribution Hub is used as a logistic and possibly a production hall, establishing itself as a housing of existing bridge crane facility, and further more, a new lifting mechanism operation. Technical facilities, production-related services, and offices with essential secondary functions are all integrated in this Freight Distribution Hub. The new hall closes up in the southern part of the northern gable of the existing hall 30. The corresponding reconstructions are proposed in the northern gable area of hall 30.
The new Freight Distribution Hub is built on the site of Berlin Huttenstraße as a logistic and a possible production hall for the assemblage of components and building components / large components of gas turbines. It also serves as an inventory control for goods and a transition warehouse.
The existing crane track complex is maintained and further used with bridge crane facility 60 t and 20 t and one new bridge crane facility of 60 t and 32 t. The two existing bridge crane facilities of 23 t and 3.2 t are dismantled. The structures of the crane bridges used for open space usage are removed.
An energy concept is developed for the new construction of the hall: Energy Performance Certificate / Building Energy Rating Pass in accordance with EnEV 2009 standard -25%, proposed by the German Energy Agency (dena) for the Green Building Certificate.
The energy concept entailed takes into account of the complete building observations. The integral planning approach between architecture, building physics and housing techniques all support the enhancement of energy efficiency, thus providing the foundation of economic measures to achieve the conservation of natural resources.
