Apartments an der Lutter

According to competition propositions a single block building with 178 student apartments was to be built on a small and narrow site on the outskirts of Göttingen. Volume of the new building is divided into 3 segments with separate entrances and staircases. Because of the high traffic highway on the north side of the perimeter all the apartments are orientated towards south and accessed through a long semi open corridor on the north. Double height community spaces and loggias, dotted throughout the building are conceived as spaces where the residents meet and socialize. All of the ground floor apartments have private gardens/terraces on the south and are intended to house people with disabilities. Top floor apartments with large terraces are intended for the teachers and university employees.
