Visitor center for the Texelpgruppe national park is set in a small town of Naturns, in the Italian Alps. Competition goal was to create an exhibition space inspired by traditional architecture and local materials. Therefore form of the building refers to a traditional alpine village. In this case scattered volumes contain exhibition spaces that are connected through a central foyer.
Main exhibition rooms have large openings to the north that allow “framed” view of the Alps and the national park in the background. All the volumes consist of a closed stone base with openings in the upper part which are covered by horizontally set wooden planks in order to ensure disperse light in the exhibition spaces.
